Children First opened in 1990, when a small group of parents and teachers worked together to realize our vision of a wonderful childhood — a childhood in which each child’s uniqueness is cherished, each child’s potential is recognized, each child’s quality of life is protected, and day after day, children see themselves reflected in the eyes of many adults who genuinely respect and appreciate them.
It is this vision which has driven our collective commitment to small group size; gentle, individualized teaching; meaningful family involvement; curriculum built around children’s strengths and interests; an engaging and beautiful learning environment; good working conditions for teachers; community outreach; and most importantly, warm respectful relationships between parents, teachers and children. In the twenty-nine years since we opened our doors, our cooperation has created a caring, supportive community that has enriched all our lives.
